La production de nanomatériaux ne cessant d'augmenter, leur présence dans l'environnement augmente. Les effets de l'exposition aux nanoparticules sur les plantes ne sont pas encore bien compris. Cette étude visait à fournir de nouvelles informations sur le stress induit par l'exposition des plantes à des nanoparticules via la détermination de la teneur en acide L-ascorbique, antioxydant connu, dans les échantillons d'espèces de bryophytes Pleurozium schreberi (Brid.) Mitt. Des échantillons de bryophytes, prélevés dans un environnement vierge, ont été exposés à des suspensions de 0,1 g.L -1 de nano-ZnO pendant cinq semaines. Avant l'exposition, les échantillons étaient soumis à la combinaison de traitements-lavage ou non-lavage ainsi que de séchage ou d'irrigation. Afin d'évaluer le niveau de stress oxydant provoqué par l'exposition aux nanoparticules de ZnO dans diverses conditions de prétraitement, la teneur en acide L-ascorbique dans les échantillons a été déterminée par titrage avec du dichlorophénolindophénol. L’effet de l’exposition au nano-ZnO et du traitement préalable a été observé; L'exposition au nano-ZnO a réduit de manière significative la teneur en acide L-ascorbique dans les échantillons de bryophytes, indiquant qu'il était consommé lors des processus de réparation suite au stress physiologique lié à l'exposition.
