OBJET: La relation entre les suppléments d'acide ascorbique (AA) et le risque de calculs rénaux chez les hommes et les femmes est controversée. Cette évaluation systématique a été réalisée pour obtenir des preuves complètes sur la relation entre les suppléments AA et le risque de calculs rénaux chez les hommes et les femmes. Matériels et méthodes: une recherche systématique de Pubmed, la bibliothèque Cochrane, Web of Science, Embase a été réalisée pour identifier les études mettant en évidence la relation entre les suppléments de AA et le risque de calculs rénaux chez les hommes et les femmes ont été publiées jusqu'à mars 2017. Résultats intéressants inclus l'incidence des calculs rénaux et les facteurs de risque. RÉSULTATS: Quatre études estimant l'association entre les suppléments d'AA et le risque de calculs rénaux ont été incluses pour la méta-analyse. L'incidence de calculs rénaux était significativement plus élevée chez les hommes que chez les femmes prenant des suppléments d'AA (OR = 1,62; IC à 95%: 1,09 à 2,42; P = 0,02). Les suppléments d'AA (250-499 mg / j, 1000-1499 mg / j) étaient remarquablement corrélés au risque de calculs rénaux chez les hommes (OR = 1,14, 95% IC: 1,00 à 1,28, P = 0,04; OR = 1,12, 95% IC : 1,11 à 1,13, p <0,00001; respectivement). Cependant, les suppléments AA (500-999 mg / j,> 1500 mg / j) ne correspondaient pas au risque de calculs rénaux chez les hommes (OR = 1,20, IC 95%: 0,99 à 1,46, P = 0,06; OR = 1,28, IC 95%: 1,00 à 1,63, P = 0,05; respectivement). De plus, les suppléments AA (250-499 mg / j, 500-999 mg / j, 1000-1499 mg / j,> 1500 mg / j) ne présentaient pas de corrélation remarquable avec le risque de calculs rénaux chez les femmes (OR = 1,00, IC 95%: 0,82 à 1,22, P = 0,98; OR = 1,08, IC à 95%: 0,99 à 1,18, P = 0,09; OR = 0,99, IC à 95%: 0,90 à 1,08, P = 0,77; OR = 0,99, IC à 95%: 0,99 à 1,09, P = 0,88; respectivement). CONCLUSIONS: Les suppléments d'AA étaient remarquablement corrélés à un risque plus élevé d'incidence de calculs rénaux chez les hommes, mais pas chez les femmes. D'autres ECR de suivi multicentriques, prospectifs et à long terme sont nécessaires pour vérifier ces résultats.
