Une méthode est décrite pour la détermination de l'activité de la phosphatase alcaline (ALP). Il est basé sur la modulation réversible de la fluorescence de WS2 quantum dots (QD). La fluorescence des QD est désactivée par le Cr (VI) mais restituée par l'acide ascorbique libre (AA). Le schéma de détection repose sur le fait que l'ALP hydrolyse le substrat 2-phosphate d'acide ascorbique pour produire de l'AA et que l'AA générée par voie enzymatique peut restaurer la fluorescence des QD. Le signal (mieux mesuré aux longueurs d'onde maximales d'excitation / émission de 365/440 nm) augmente linéairement dans la plage d'activité de 0,5 à 10 U.L -1, avec une limite de détection de 0,2 U.L -1. La méthode a été appliquée à la détermination de l'activité de la PAL dans des échantillons de sérum humain et a donné des résultats satisfaisants.
